There are some wonderful additions to this months issue starting with the models this month, Nikky and back by popular demand, Maite. For Nikky it was the very first time she had posed for a photographer and we must say she is a natural. The crew was so enamoured by her looks and ease with which she moved in front of the camera that they compared her to the professional sixtIes pin up girls, sexy, well rounded and extremely sensual! We have part two of the interview with Kandee G., an international keynote speaker, life skills coach and successful author. This month she gives us solid advice and delves deeper into the how and what to do to go about achieving your dreams and goals. Be sure to check out her online vision progamme which starts again this month www.kandeeg.com Eden & Elle is proud to welcome Sammie, a bubbly, warm hearted author of Maori descent & Steve, who gave up a career in I.T. to follow his passion to help others, join our team of writers who will all be sharing their knowledge and ideas with you to increase your awareness or just for the pleasure of reading about the incredible experiences they have come across. Due to the vibrations, slippery when wet surface because of the lubricants and clamps that could not help hold it in place, the letter 'T' of the word toy made way for the letter 'J' thus changing the title into Erotic Joy of The Month. We pride ourselves about the fact that we write about subjects others dare not even touch, therfore making it possible to learn and grow, which we believe is the reason why we are on this planet. Our warm extended thanks go to Ladyeye, for her article about Nova Scotia, the destination of the month. Even in this wintery weather she makes it sound enticing to visit so be sure to check out her insider tips. You will find a yummy recipe from the michelin star restaurant ' Five Fisherman' in Halifax that Ladyeye mentions. As always, there is Charissa's Diary, beauty tips, the monthly alternative (by Steve), noticeboard and other treasures for you – Enjoy! Yours warmly, Désirée Deul Chief Editor Sammie – A Gentle Maori Spirit Sammie Lariviere is a New Zealander of Maori and European decent. Her wandering heart beckoned her to travel extensively throughout the world before settling down with her husband in England. Yet her biggest journey was one within herself with the rediscovery of her inner wisdom. She has written internationally published short stories, poems and articles and enjoys her life as a full figured woman happy with her body. Dyslexia being a challenge academically, she developed her creative skills and trained to be an artist. This lead her into careers as a Medical and Forensic Artist. On retiring from there, Sammie set up a small Art company. Her hobbies include teaching yoga, making perfumes and beauty products using essential and organic vegetable oils and playing tribal/African drums. I once heard it said that "Our heart beats have their ups and downs...and so do our lives. We cannot have the ups without the downs. This rhythm lets us know we are alive. If we didn't have these ups and downs we would be flat lining....and our lives would be over. So next time you find yourself in a down beat remember that this is just another beat in the rhythm of your life. And after every down beat there is a rise...." A friend and I were recently discussing how we both experienced spirituality and the inner turmoil and conflicts that occur with our daily lives living in western society and our need for self nurturing and nourishment. We discussed our perspectives and emotional aspects from living in different countries when we were younger and now as adults with responsibilities. Our ancestry also raised points of interest in our conversation as we are both of mixed cultures. We agreed that western culture places greater emphasis on the beauty, fashion and celebrity 'Goddess' rather than on the inner qualities of peace, calm and enjoying our unique selves and our bodies for the beautiful women we truly are. Women process their thoughts and feelings differently to men and this causes tension within ourselves and our relationships. It produces feelings of low self esteem, falling self confidence and the feelings/thoughts of inadequacy. We are human with fluctuations in our energy levels and emotions that are neither one thing nor the other, but a blend of many energies and behavioural patterns all attempting to be one. Everything from our internal psychological processes to our external experiences and influences that make us the unique and wondrous individuals we are! Sometimes "THE BEST ACTION" is to do nothing until you feel it is right to do so. Those times of "non action" are our sub-consciouses way of saying, you are to relax and try to find an inner calm. We are HUMAN BEINGS, not HUMAN DOINGS! Western culture has forced people to push down and deny our "instincts" in favour of rational thought. This in itself isn't a bad thing, but without our instincts we are in danger of over analysing things and destroying the moment. Rather than living in the here and now, we worry or obsess over possible situations and events in the future. Again, we are human, but we must accept that there is only so much we can do to the best of our abilities at that time. Taking the time to care for ourselves, our family and friends and live in our bodies, feeling what the carpet is like to walk on bare foot enroute to the kitchen for a cup of tea. Smelling the fresh spring air as we open the windows or just enjoying the feeling of relaxing into the soft plush cushions on the Sofa. Listening to our bodies, and take a short break by doing stretching exercises or deep breathing is an instinctual and spiritual way of keeping connected to our innerselves and the universe. Money can't give you the inner peace and calm in the night when the world has handled you too rough. Status can't stand with you at the edge of a beautiful sunrise and welcome the day. Business contacts aren't the memories that will keep you warm when you are alone with yourself. Material possessions won't hold your hand when the winds of time blow all of your birthdays away. The person who has made your life important is YOU. Our beliefs are a little like a grid that we have formed about our lives, ourselves, our experiences and our reactions. Our perceptions of these we call reality. Ask a roomfull of people about an incident that just happened, and you will get as many answers as there are people. Not one of the statements about the incident is right or wrong. It's subjective. All perceptions are true. Our perceptions do change as we gain more experience in life, the time and places, the people we meet and our emotional responses. She is an International keynote speaker, a life skills coach and a successful author. As a single mom she went from being homeless to living a life many dream of. This is her story. (Part I can be found in the January issue of Eden & Elle magazine. If you wish to order a copy please send an email to info@edenandelle.com) E&E: Do you have any words of advice for our readers on how to go about achieving all that you have achieved ? K.G.: Absolutely! It's really about taking the time within yourself, time for self review and self discovery. Decide, uncover, take time with yourself. Take a look at what it is you really, really want to do and then begin to define a way to get there. Create powerful mental images, these images will drive you forward. Even if you're sitting back today saying “I don't know how I'm going to step out and do what it is I want to do” just decide that you're going to get there and maybe take a small action step today, but do it. Focus on whatever that thing is calling you in your heart and do it. If something is talking to you from your heart, you are meant to do that. E&E: In other words, that would be the most important thing that our readers need to change in order to start living the life they desire and dream of ? K.G.: The things that people need to change is to begin to certainly focus on your passion, focus on what it is you want to create, even taking little baby steps, just begin to focus on things that are positive and productive. I know that we have created this crazy world of negativity and distraction and its those things, the negativity and distraction, that will keep us away from creating the things that we want. So it's very important that we can begin to engineer and design systems to keep ourselves thinking in a positive and productive manner. My book “Now boarding – next stop Your remarkable Life” is a self help memoir and it will guide you with clear steps along the way intertwined with some of my own stories of what to do to create tools to keep yourself on track. The magic really is in the ACTION step. You can't pick up my book, read it and then not do anything, as then it's like you've read nothing at all. It's about taking action towards getting your thoughts and thinking on track. All that we achieve, all that we fail to achieve is a direct result of our own thinking. E&E: In other words, in your book people could find the missing ingredient as many don't know how to go about doing the necessary processes to get them what they want. K.G.: Exactly. And I've tried very hard to put everything you need in that book as well as a lot on my website (www.kandeeg.com) where you can just go to and take away oodles of information without cost, you don't have to sign up for anything, you don't have to pay, you can just download things you can use to get your thinking on track. E&E: As a life skills coach, do you notice differences in the way men and women wish to improve themselves and how they go about doing so? K.G.: When it comes to the type of coaching that I do, as my coaching is very different from other life skills coaches, I really teach from the inside out, I start with the thought process. By the time people come to me for one on one coaching, they've been through a lot of differents types of coaching, so by the time they get to me, I see incredible similarities with both sexes. It really is about how do they create fulfillment, how do they tap into their passion, I get asked that a lot from both genders. E&E: I've also heard you talk about the law of gratitude, could you elaborate on that ? K.G.: The law of gratitude is extraordinarily powerful. When you're in gratitude you cannot be in another feeling or another emotion. One of the best ways to sensor yourself in that what has been called the creative substance or the creative flow, is to learn to habituate this thing called gratitude. When you can really understand what gratitude is and how it works in your life, doing that alone will help you begin to see positive and productive changes in your life. A lot of folks have learned gratitude as a social grace, as obligatory. E.g. When someone does something nice for you, you say thank you, but it is so much more. When you can truly habituate this thing called gratitude in your life, it is absolutely life transforming. E&E: Can you describe to our readers what success means to you ? K.G.: Succes to me means something that I call personal prosperity, which means having success and abundance in all aspects of our lives. It's not just having “stuff” which people equate to success, having the dollars to do the things that I want to do or having the home that I want to live in. It also means like I just said, having abundance in aspects of our lives, having fulfillment in my spritual life, having fulfillment and abundance in my relationships. I'm now remarried and have an extraordinary husband and we have an amazing relationship. Fulfilling that piece of me, that playtime piece, I love to play, I love to travel. So success to me is really having all of those things, but beyond those things, is having the balance, having the time to enjoy the things that I have created. I'm very proud and happy to say that my work life doesn't drive who I am, I love what I do but I also love being a wife, I love being a mother, I love taking care of my garden and I'm very pleased to say that I have created that balance where I can enjoy all of those things. E&E: I think that what you describe is something everyone wants to achieve but few know how to do so, they try to live their lives so hard that they forget to enjoy their lives. K.G.: What you're saying is so true! People are running around so hard that they don't know how to sit back and relax, to find ways to enjoy what they have. E&E: Now that you have accomplished so much do you still have dreams you wish to come true? K.G.: Yes, absolutely! It's incredible because as you learn the powers of consciously manifesting and learn to understand that you can create anything you want in your life. It's been my personal experience that there is always that next level to grow to and go to and you never stop . I'm very pleased and excited to say that my radio show called “nothing but good news” has now been picked up by a radio station where I'm on twice a week on drive time in the morning, which is pretty exciting and I would like to segway that to where its simulcast on television, so I'm working on that. I also have a team of people that I'm expanding whom I've taught how to do my vision program so that it can be taught without me and some amazing incredible people have just come into my life that have the same heart and mind. What we want to do is truly, truly make a difference first and we plan on taking some of the things that we are doing with the online vision program globally so I'm very excited about that. As my team can begin to take over some of the training I do; I speak and train a lot, it will free up some time for me to write more books because that's a huge passion for me. In addition to that, my beautiful daughter Katie will be out of high school in a couple of years and moving on to college, so I'll be looking to do more travelling and speaking globally. I tend to hold back on some of those things because I want to be here for my family so some of that will change as time goes on. E&E: I would really like to thank you for taking time out of your schedule to talk with us today. I will, like I'm sure many of my readers be signing up for your online vision program in February, so I'll be talking to you again then! K.G.: Thank you! It's a great thing. It's the first time that the online vision program is available for $89. What will be happening is that I will certainly be there, a portion of it will be taught by my team members but I'll be there as well, so it's really great value or people. E&E: Kandee G, thanks again, on behalf of myself and our readers. K.G.: Thank you so much, Bye! NOTICE BOARD FOR OUR READERS !! TRAVEL QUESTION !! from Mary Collins, Brooklyn N.Y.
