The cathedral had an important restoration at the 17th century, in the tradition of the Roman style. An engraved lintel reminds the visit of the Pope Urbain II in Valence in 1095. On the East side, the ambulatory leads to the radiating chapels, where is located the funeral monument of the Pope Pie VI, dead in Valence. The Armenian Heritage Center It is a page of universal history bearing witness of identities and itineraries which are both individual and collective, marked by persecution, genocide, exil and the integration into country of refuge. It is also the singular history of citizens of Valence from Armenian origin. Open from Tuesday to Sunday from October to March 2 pm - 5.30 pm and from April to September 2.30 pm - 6.30 pm. The Eperviere Marina In the heart of a leisure park with protected nature (European Blue Flag), Valence houses the n°1 river marina in France. You will find lots of attrations : health course, botanic path, boowling alley, tennis courts... Chemin de lEpervière 26000 Valence The Pendentif In the cloister of the cathedral was erected in 1548 the funeral monument of the canon Mistral. Built in molasse (friable sandstone from the quarry of Chateauneuf sur Isère), it testifies by its shape in triumphal arc to the renewal interest of the Renaissance for the Ancient Times. Justly famous since the 17th century for the perfection of its vault, the Pendentif was one of the first monuments listed in France (1840), three years only after the creation of the Monuments Historiques commission. The Peynet Bandstand A beautiful love story on glazed paper started a night of 1942 : the designer Raymond Peynet stopped off in Valence and his steps led him to the Champs de Mars where, appealed to the beauty of the place, he immortalized the bandstand and its two lovers. Today the Peynet bandstand is listed Monument Historique. The Maison des Têtes Built in the beginning of the 16th century by Antoine de Dorne, Teacher at the University and consul of Valence, this house marks the crossing from the High Gothic style to the Renaissance. Its name is due to the numerous sculpted heads located on the facade, the corridor and the inner courtyard. On the facade, The Winds, the Fortune, the Time and emblematic figures as Theology, Law and Medecine are represented.
